Our Production Process
We take pride in personally overseeing every stage of your personalised newspaper’s creation. Our process combines specialist expertise with careful quality control:
Design and Preparation: We create and prepare your personalised newspaper design in our own production facility, ensuring every detail matches your specifications.
Professional Printing: We work with carefully selected local print partners who print your personalised newspapers to our exacting specifications. We have personally vetted these partners, agreed all materials including paper quality and ink specifications, and conducted multiple test prints to ensure the finished product meets our quality standards. We provide our print partners with a print-ready PDF file and order reference only. We do not share your personal contact details, payment information, or any other personal data with them.
In-House Finishing: Once printed, we personally collect your newspaper and handle all finishing in-house, including:
- Framing in solid hardwood frames
- Mounting and presentation
- Quality inspection at multiple stages
- Secure packaging to protect during delivery
- Final dispatch arrangements
This approach gives us complete control over quality and means your order remains under our direct management throughout the entire process, allowing us to work with printing specialists who share our commitment to excellence. We remain fully responsible and accountable for every aspect of your gift from design through to delivery. Each newspaper is carefully inspected for quality before it leaves our facility, ensuring your gift is created with the care and attention it deserves.

Creating Your Personalised Newspaper
The Design Process
Our website guides you through creating your personalised newspaper. You will choose your occasion and template, upload your photos, write your headlines and personal messages, customise the layout and design, preview your newspaper, select frame and packaging options, and complete your order.
Your Content and Photos
Ownership: You retain full ownership of all photos, text, and content you upload to our website.
Limited Licence: By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to use your content solely to create your ordered product, process and share your content with our trusted third-party print partners for production purposes only, and store your content temporarily during order fulfilment.
What We Don’t Do: We will never use your photos or moments in our marketing without your explicit written permission. We will not share your content beyond what’s necessary for production.
For information about how long we keep your photos and content, please see our Privacy Policy.
Content Standards and Acceptable Use
You are responsible for ensuring all content you upload:
- Does not infringe anyone else’s intellectual property rights (copyright, trademarks, etc.)
- Does not contain defamatory, obscene, offensive, or inflammatory material
- Does not violate any laws or regulations
- Does not include content you do not have permission to use
- Is appropriate for a printed gift product
- Complies with our acceptable use standards
Prohibited Content
We explicitly prohibit the creation of newspapers containing:
- Hate speech or content that demeans, discriminates against, or incites violence towards any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Sexually explicit content, pornography, or nudity
- Defamatory, libellous, or slanderous statements
- Content that promotes, glorifies, or instructs on illegal activities
- Content that infringes intellectual property rights (including copyrighted images, logos, or text you do not have permission to use)
- Content that violates anyone’s privacy or publicity rights
- Graphic violence or gore
- Content that could reasonably be considered offensive, inflammatory, threatening, or inappropriate for a gift product
We reserve the right to refuse to print content that violates these content standards, could expose us or our print partners to legal liability, is inappropriate for our brand values, would require our staff or print partners to handle offensive or distressing material, or could bring our business into disrepute.
Consequences of Inappropriate Content
If we identify content that violates these standards, we will refuse to process your order, provide a full refund of your payment, and explain the reason for refusal. We reserve the right to terminate your account for serious or repeated violations. We may report illegal content to appropriate authorities as required by law.
If you are unsure whether your content meets our standards, please contact us at [email protected] before placing your order, and we will be happy to advise.
Photo Quality and Requirements
For the best results:
- Upload high-resolution photos (minimum 300 DPI recommended for optimal print quality)
- Ensure photos are clear, well-lit, and in focus
- Use JPEG or PNG format
- Check that photos are not pixelated when previewing
- Ensure file sizes are appropriate for the print dimensions you have selected
We will do our best to optimise your photos, but we cannot improve the quality of low-resolution images. Print quality reflects the quality of images you provide, and we are not responsible if low-quality images do not print well. If you are unsure about image quality, contact us before ordering and we will happily advise.
Design Approval and Changes
Before completing your order, carefully review the preview of your newspaper, check all text for spelling and accuracy, verify that photos appear correctly, confirm all details are as you want them, and ensure all content complies with our content standards.
Important: Once you place your order, production begins automatically to ensure fast delivery. Changes may not be possible once production has commenced. Contact us within 2 hours of ordering if you need to make changes. We will do our best to accommodate change requests, but once our production process has begun, changes cannot be guaranteed.
All products are bespoke and made to your unique specifications. Once production begins, the order may become irreversible as materials are committed to your specific newspaper.
Content Warranties
By submitting content to our website, you warrant that you own all rights to the content or have obtained all necessary permissions, your content does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights, your content complies with all applicable laws and regulations, and all information you provide is accurate and truthful.
You agree to indemnify (compensate) us for any claims, damages, or losses we suffer because of content you provided that violates these warranties or third-party rights.
Pricing and Payment
Product Pricing
All prices on our website are displayed in British Pounds (GBP), and are the total payable amount, clearly shown before you complete your purchase, and subject to change at any time without prior notice.

Order Acceptance
We accept your order when we begin production in our facility. You will receive a production confirmation email, and at this point, a legally binding contract is formed between you and SRM Systems Limited.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders before production if:

Returns, Cancellations, and Refunds
Our Promise: We want every gift to be something you’re proud to give and they’re delighted to receive. If something isn’t right, we’ll work with you to make it right. The details below explain your rights and how to reach us.
Your Right to Cancel
Under UK consumer protection law, you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases. However, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, personalised products made specifically to your requirements are exempt from this standard cancellation right, because once we begin creating your unique newspaper, that work cannot be resold or reused. This means that we generally cannot accept returns.
This exemption is standard across the personalised gifts industry and is a legal provision, not something we choose to apply. However, we go significantly beyond our legal obligations through the protections below.
Cancelling Before Production Begins
If you change your mind immediately after ordering, contact us as quickly as possible — ideally within 2 hours of placing your order. We will do everything we can to cancel before production begins and issue a full refund. The sooner you contact us, the better the chance of stopping production in time.
Once our production process has started, cancellation may not be possible as materials and design time have already been committed to your specific order.
Our Satisfaction Guarantee
Despite the legal exemption for personalised products, we stand behind everything we create. If you are not completely happy with your order for any reason, contact us within 488 hours of delivery and we will work with you to make it right, whether that means a reprint, a replacement, or a refund at our discretion.
We ask that you contact us promptly so we can resolve things quickly and ensure any replacement reaches you in good time.
Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Products
If your product arrives damaged in transit, is faulty, or does not match what you ordered, your consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply in full. Please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order for the possibility of a full refund or replacement of your choice. We ask for notification within 48 hours of delivery so we can investigate and resolve matters promptly.
We understand that gifts are sometimes not opened immediately, for example, if a gift is being saved for an occasion, or if you are away when it arrives. We will always assess reports of damage or faults on a case-by-case basis and will not automatically reject a claim solely because the 7-day window has passed, provided you contact us as soon as you discover the issue.
For faulty or damaged products, we will arrange one of the following at no cost to you:
- A free replacement, produced and dispatched as a priority
- A full refund to your original payment method
- A partial refund where a minor defect does not warrant full replacement
To report a damaged or faulty product, please email us at [email protected] with your order number and, where possible, a photo showing the issue. This helps us resolve your case faster and improve our quality control.
Refund Timescales
When a refund is approved, it will be issued to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days from the date we confirm the refund. You may also see an additional 3 to 5 business days of processing time depending on your bank or card provider. You will receive an email confirmation when your refund has been processed from our end.
How to Contact Us About Returns
Email: hello@bethefrontpage.com – please include your order number and a description of the issue
Phone: +447802 880118 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm GMT)
We aim to respond to all returns and refund enquiries within 1 business day.
Our Liability
What We Are Responsible For
- Providing products that match their descriptions
- Ensuring products are of satisfactory quality
- Replacing faulty or damaged products
- Managing quality control with our print partners
- Fulfilling our obligations under these terms
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any matter where it would be illegal to exclude or limit liability under UK law.
Limitations on Our Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, or business, loss of business opportunity, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill or reputation, indirect or consequential loss, or any loss not reasonably foreseeable at the time you placed your order.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your order is limited to the amount you paid for the specific product giving rise to the claim.
Specific Exclusions
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, issues caused by your failure to provide accurate information, problems with content you created or photos you uploaded, poor print quality resulting from low-resolution images you provided (where we warned you about image quality), third-party websites or services we link to, your violation of these terms, copyright infringement in content you provide, customs delays or charges for international orders, or courier delays beyond our reasonable control.
Third-Party Print Partners
We exercise reasonable care in selecting and monitoring our third-party print partners. We remain fully responsible to you for the quality of your final product and will replace or refund any product that does not meet our quality standards, regardless of where in the production process the issue occurred.
Content You Provide
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to use all content, photos, and text you upload, obtaining permissions for any copyrighted material, ensuring content does not defame, offend, or harm others, ensuring content complies with our acceptable use policy, and compliance with all applicable laws regarding your content.
You agree to indemnify us for any claims, damages, or losses we suffer because of content you provided that violates these terms or third-party rights.
Print Colour Variations
Important Notice: Colours on screens (monitors, phones, tablets) appear differently than printed colours due to differences between screen display technology (RGB) and print technology (CMYK). We work with our print partners who calibrate their equipment for accurate colour reproduction, use industry-standard colour management processes, and follow professional colour matching protocols.
Some variation between screen preview and final print is normal and expected in professional printing. This is not considered a defect.
External Links
Our website may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content on those websites, their privacy practices, products or services they provide, or any loss or damage from using third-party sites.
Force Majeure
In plain English: Occasionally, events completely outside our control — severe weather, power cuts, national emergencies — may affect our ability to deliver on time. If this ever happens, we’ll tell you straight away, keep you updated, and refund you in full if we can’t fulfil your order within 30 days.
We are not liable for delays or failures in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:
Natural Events
- Natural disasters (floods, earthquakes, severe weather)
- Pandemics or epidemics
- Acts of God
Infrastructure Failures
- Power outages
- Internet or telecommunications failures
- Transportation disruptions
- Courier service failures or strikes
External Actions
- Strikes or industrial action
- War, terrorism, or civil unrest
- Government actions or regulations
- Supplier failures or raw material shortages
- Print partners’ facility issues or equipment failures beyond normal operational issues
What Happens in Force Majeure
We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible, explain the situation and likely impact, and resume performance as soon as the circumstance is resolved.
If the delay exceeds 30 days, either party may cancel the affected order and you will receive a full refund.

General Terms
In plain English: This section covers the legal housekeeping — what happens if part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, how we communicate with each other formally, and confirming that these terms represent the full agreement between us. Nothing here changes your consumer rights.
Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Delivery Policy, and Returns and Refunds Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us. They supersede any previous agreements, understandings, or arrangements, whether oral or written.
